SMART+CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is the first and revolutionarily unique program in Malaysia that’s dedicated in creating SAFE SCHOOLS, where learning can be conducted in an environment free of safety hazards, intimidation, violence, and fear. It is approved by the Ministry of Education and endorsed by DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety & Health)
Smart College is in the forefront of creating awareness of safety & disasters at schools and how to respond in an emergency. Currently, we’ve trained over 5000 students in almost 100 schools in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Penang since 2014. During the period, we’ve team up with devoted partners such as DOSH, BOMBA, NADMA, JPJ, MOH, PPD, SJAM, MAH, MSOSH, and many more.
Together we’ve trained and certified over 200 school counselors, over 100 students, and have set up 10 Safety Committee in 10 schools and are expending to 30 schools by 2020. The students are trained on how to conduct HIRARC.
GOAL FOR 2020
-Target 30 schools to set-up Safety & Health Committee
-Safety & Health Policy at schools will be established
-Partnership with DOSH, MSOSH, JBPM, SJAM, NADMA, and PPD
-Partners to include JPJ and MOH
-Minimum 30 schools will be certified ‘Safe School’
